Biography
Paroxysm was formed in 1996. Created in an original manner in Longueuil in the suburbs of Montreal by Sebastien Tremblay (vocals), Gaston Gendron (guitars), Benoet Quevillon (guitars) and Eric Desrochers (bass). In 1997, Antoine Rousseau joined the group on drums allowing Paroxysm to have a complete formation. Then, Eric left giving place to Yan Racicot. In 1999, the group was ready to deliver ten compositions and to start performing live but found itself without a drummer, since the current one was involved in numerous musical projects.
From 1999 to 2001 the group tested various drummers and did not happen to find one stable enough for them. In the autumn 2001, through the magazine Sang Frais, Paroxysm met Franck Camus, a drummer settled recently in Quebec for musical considerations amongst other reasons.
