Biography
Norway's White Willow released its first album in 1995. "Ignis Fatuus" became one of the landmarks of the so-called "Scandinavian revival" of progressive rock. Along with Landberk, Änglagård and Anekdoten, White Willow spearheaded a movement that would revitalize and inspire a whole new wave of progressive music. White Willow was already "one of the most significant progressive groups of the current era" according to Billboard's Guide to Progressive Music. Subsequent performances on major festivals in Europe and the US have helped affirm this position.
Ever restless, the group moved on from the pastoral romanticism of the first album to a darker, bleaker sound on 1998's experimental "Ex Tenebris", whereas 2000's "Sacrament" presented a polished, lush symphonic rock sound and became an instant favorite for many fans.
