The Destro

Band Members

In the endless wake of faceless "whatever you want to call it" core bands, The Destro plows through stereo types and lables with a sound they can call their own. Singer, Eric describes, "We just take all our influences which are everything from classic rock, old school metal, new school, power metal, death, hardcore, sludge core, grind core......whatever....and since we all grew up here in Texas, we are all big fans of southern music. Blues, country, plus all those classic southern rock bands have been embedded in us. It shows up in our music because it's in our blood. " Guitarist Nick continues, " We cut out all the bulls**t....this music is pretty straight up and it's us. This is a real band that plays real music. We are not here to try and fit into a mold."
After releasing two e.ps, the " Red" e.p (2002) and the " Slice of life" e.p (2004) as well as being featured on National Noise Magazine's " Bring the Rock" compilations 1 and 2, the band had gained much attention in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as well as air play on Dallas' 97.1 The Eagle KEGL and 89.3 KNON. This then led to opening 2003's Summer Sanitarium show outside of Texas Stadium and official radio-sponsored after shows for Slayer, Hatebreed, Rob Zombie, Korn, System of a Down, and Distured. The band has also shared the stage with acts such as ARCH ENEMY, NILE, HOPESFALL, DARKEST HOUR, CANDIRIA, ALL THAT REMAINS, DOPE, HATE ETERNAL, THE CROWN, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, VEHEMENCE, 40 GRIT, HEMLOCK, TAPPING THE VEIN, THE ESOTERIC, ZUG ISLAND, LOSA, ELEMENT EIGHTY, GOD FORBID, IT DIES TODAY, CALIBAN AND FULL BLOWN CHAOS to name a few. The bands music was even used on UPN television network's show X-Treme Motion as a soundtrack.

Now with their first full length cd on the way and the endorsement of companies Jagermeister, Level 27 clothing, Deadly Clothing, and In Tune pics, the band prepares to unleash their own brand of music that defies any cliches or limitations left by predecessors to the masses.
