Biography
Tenacious D, or "The D" as they are known by their fans, is an American rock band duo composed of musician/actors Kyle Gass and Jack Black.[1] Their music fuses vulgar absurdist comedy with rock music; a style that has been described as "mock rock".
The band first gained popularity in 1999 when they starred in the eponymously titled Tenacious D, a television series on HBO, in which Black and Gass established themselves as the "Greatest Band on Earth". The series is occasionally aired on Comedy Central and is available on their DVD, The Complete Masterworks. In addition, they have since recording two albums, and starred in their own movie.
