Biography
DARK ANGEL first began to spread their wings at L.A.'s Downey High School in '81. By '84, the band - now including lead guitarist Eric Meyer - received interest from the California-based Metalstorm Records/Azra Int. Co., as well as Axe Killer Records in Europe. DARK ANGEL set to work on their first album in the Summer of '84, w/Metal Blade producer Bill Metoyer at the helm, & by early '85 "We Have Arrived" was unleashed upon the world. At this point the band made a crucial line-up change, bringing in drummer Gene Hoglan. The release of '86's "Darkness Descends" introduced a new label, Combat Records.
