Biography
Powderburn is a name that fans in the underground metal scene have come to recognize. This hardcore metal act spawned in October of 1998 from guitarist Josh Klayman, in a small apartment in Austin, Texas. With the combined efforts of guitarist Ken Lockman from New Jersey and bassist Greg Enkler and drummer Patrick Swfit from New York, Powderburn has quickly made an impact on the local music scene, as well as spread their name nationally and internationally via the internet and relentless touring.
Having four dedicated and solid musicians, from four different states, in one band, tends to produce a lot of creative musical ideas. The band prides itself in being able to write heavy songs that appeal to listeners of today's metal scene, without succumbing to the current trend of tuning your guitar to subsonic frequencies, or playing guitar riffs that any novice can figure out.
