Judas Priest Reviews

Ypsilanti Reviews

Well Bloodlined Calligraphy is not a band new to the whole "metalcore" thing, the very thing which has lost its luster since its inception, and those of you who can tell me when the inception was win a free trip to memory lane.

"YPSILANIT" is Bloodlined Calligraphy's latest effort and it comes to the point where the band doesn't have too much room left to move. While the agressive behavior of the music is still intact and while they appreciate the finer elements of the music known as "metalcore" the band has come to the dead end in writing. This disc won't bring about any new fascination but one thing is certain is that this is a band who has been doing this sort of metal for awhile now so they know what makes a good riff, what makes a thrashy tune and what makes another "They Want You Silent".

Their effort is well noted on this disc but doesn't shine bright enough for any kind of extrodinary excitement, not to say you are supposed to be blown away by this disc. Bloodlined Calligraphy need to push themselves harder in the ways of song writing or the circle they are tracked on will become their doom. One positive attribute this album carries is that this is a band that certainly know how to play their instruments like many. There are always moments of potential on "YPSILANTI" but they are negated by the typical. This band has yet to make their best album, which is something fans and the band should look forward to.
